There is only one way to stop puppy mills. It is to educate the society, ban the conditions of their torture,cruelty and the sale of their sickly offspring to pet stores. It is a great benefit not only to the dogs, but for the well being of society as a whole to promote healthy adoption through shelter, rescue, or private local reputable purebred breeders. By placing a ban on the sale of their cruelty and halting the demand, you will also put the illegal mills out of business. Some suggest that will just lead to more internet sales.
Currently there is legislation being drafted to ban the sale of mill dogs via the internet. When legislation passes, not only will that force more illegal puppy mill offspring through Pet Store Brokers (as the one I HEART PUPPIES uses that has no license ) but it will ensure the illegal mills stay in business. It is simply society's responsibility to become educated, protecting its citizens from being victimized by fraudulent businesses, and deny profits investing in the torture and death of the puppy mill trade business.
These are not cows or chickens, these beings are OUR COMPANIONS, Man's Best Friend, they are sentient beings with deep conscious emotional experiences and highly reactive to their environment....Puppy Mills are a National Disgrace... It is simply Wrong from any decent and moral standard for our companion animals to be tortured for profit and sold as disposable products..
